Thomas Claude “Tim” Frye, Jr.

September 16, 1960 - July 13, 2019

Thomas Claude “Tim” Frye, Jr., age 58, lost his battle to ALS during the early morning hours of July 13, 2019.  Tim was ushered into heaven while in the comfort of his home and surrounded by a host of family, friends, and loved ones.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Claude Frye, Sr.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Lisa Malcolm Frye.  Also surviving are his two amazing sons; Thomas Malcolm “T.M.” Frye (wife Brook) and Dusty Frye (wife Randi).  Tim was also the proud grandfather of Branson, Charli Alice, Mayson, Darci, Paxton, and Dane.  Also surviving is his faithful mother, Mary D. Frye, two adored sisters, Diana “Gail” Nixon and Brenda Miller, and countless nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends that he loved dearly.

Tim is best described as a loving husband, devoted father, and blessed grandfather.  To many, he was a loyal friend who was kind, compassionate, and hard working.  He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, a master Rook player, and a father figure to many.

Tim was a big fan of WVU sports, the Baltimore Orioles, and the Indianapolis Colts.  Tim’s fondest memories revolved around playing softball with his brother-like friends.  He also considered it to be a joy and privilege to coach little league baseball with his two boys, T.M. and Dusty, in the game.  Tim was proud to belong to the WV Horseshoe League and the Master Masons of the Clinton Lodge #86.  Tim committed himself to 20+ years at ABEX as a Union Auto Worker (UAW), however, for the last 14 years Tim and his wife, Lisa, embraced the calling to serve their community by providing security services through Frye Security Systems, Inc.

Tim was a gift and a blessing to all who knew him and leaves a legacy of love of family, respect for others, faith in God above, and an appreciation for the great outdoors.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Springfield Assembly of God in Springfield, WV.
