Margie Ellen (Hott) Ruckman

February 25, 1943 - May 9, 2018

Margie Ellen (Hott) Ruckman, 75, of Romney passed away, unexpectedly, Wednesday evening, May 9th, joining the Lord and her husband, Stanley.

Born February 25, 1943 in Romney she was the daughter of the late Kenneth E. and Gladys E. Hott.  Besides her parents, Margie is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Clinton Ruckman (dec. 2000).  Four brothers; Wayne, Richard, Raymond, and infant Hott; and by her sister-in-law, Patty Hott.

Margie is survived by her three daughters; Cynthia Horton of Romney, Barbara Kidwell and husband Walter of Romney, and Kathy Evans and husband Mark of Romney.  Two brothers; Duncan Hott and wife Lisa of Romney and Larry Hott of Kirby.

Margie spent her life surrounded by her eleven grandchildren and twenty- one great grandchildren.

Margie was a lifelong resident of Hampshire Co. and had never met a stranger.  She spent 50+ years tirelessly working as she raised her family and kept tabs on all the happenings in town.  She shared in the joys of marriages and births and the sorrows of death; touching almost everyone in the community in some way.  Whether you were blessed by her chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cake or her mischievous sense of humor as she chatted over her work counter, you knew Margie was one of a kind.

Her house and heart were always open to friends and acquaintances who quickly became “family”.  She was rich in her faith and we will take comfort in knowing she is dancing in Heaven with her beloved husband once again.

Friends will be received Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the Covenant Baptist Church in Romney.  Funeral services will be held at the church on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at 3:00 PM will Pastor Dale Myers officiating.  Interment will be private.
