Linda grew up in Springfield on the family farm. As a child, there are warm memories of her going with her parents to Bluegrass events where she came to love music and singing. As a young teenager, life was faced with many challenges at home and she left and was married before her 16th birthday. From then on, Linda’s life was about work, raising kids and finding time to sing and entertain. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and wherever life took her, she would always include music and singing into the equation. Linda was very much a realist, and in her memoirs she directly recalls what she did right and what she did wrong. Nothing is sugar coated. Still, she will be remembered as one who brightened a room when she entered and one who had a wonderful sense of humor and truly cared about people.
