John Sharf “Jack” Williams II, 74, of Romney, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, at his home in Modena, Italy.
Born on Aug. 13, 1943, Jack was the son of the late John Sharf I and Virginia Williams. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas C. Williams.
Jack attended Romney High School in Romney and the University of the Americas in Mexico City. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a chiropractor in the U.S. and in Italy, where he spent a large part of his life. Jack was a keen hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed music, art, good food and gardening, and earning the title of West Virginia Master Gardener. He was loved by all and was always able to make people smile.
Jack was a loving husband to his wife, Gloria, and a wonderful father to his daughters, Lucia and Didi, who survive him. He is survived also by 2 brothers, Samuel and Stuart Williams.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Oct. 19, at San Pietro Basilica in Modena, before a large congregation. A remembrance service in Romney will be held at a future date to be confirmed.
