John was born and raised in Baltimore, MD., soon moving South to Anne Arundel County where he met Betsy in 1979.  They became quite an item and married in 1981, soon after starting their family of 5.   John’s life was about work and lots of it.  He was a laborer all this life in his home state of Maryland and also after the move to West Virginia in 1988.  He worked at Pilgrims until his health no longer permitted him to do so.   John had a gift when it came to what he could do with his hands, which was most anything.  He enjoyed  building, fixing and repairing; anything that needed to be done.  Poker was on his list of pleasures and he had a knack of getting tired and going to bed when he was ahead.  His love(s) started with Betsy and reached many others and pursuits.  Toward the end, he loved to sit with Betsy, (2) Canine family members and watch Westerns.  His family was everything; no matter what happened, they stuck together.  His easy going and loving personality will be missed by many.

Friends are welcome to come and be a part of John’s Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 10AM to 4PM being held at his home.  There will be no formal service, and all are welcome to come and enjoy good food, drink and fellowship.  Address:  404 Stringtown Rd., Purgitsville, WV  26852  Telephone; 304-289-5170
