James “Jim” Dwayne Kidwell, age 59, passed away suddenly and peacefully on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at his home in Romney, WV.
Jim was born on June 20, 1959 in Kingwood, WV and is the son of the late Wayne and Jane Kidwell. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Debra Kidwell. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jennifer Buckley Kidwell, his son J.D. (wife Amanda) Kidwell of Romney, WV., his sister, Barbara Faris, an identical twin brother, Joseph (wife Kim) Kidwell, additional brothers; Walter (wife Barbara) Kidwell and Wayne Kidwell, Jr. Jim also leaves behind the light of his life, his granddaughter, Kali Jane. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews; Joey, Wesley, Willie, Nathan, Corbin, Dale, Leona, Crystal, Rachael, Heather, Amy, Brooke and uncountable friends.
Jim loved the outdoors, people, getting together, his beloved garage and probably topping the list, motorcycles. Getting on his 1979 Harley FLH and hooking up with his buddies to go for a ride, to nowhere in particular, was one of his larger joys. Another biggie was music. When his best friend (his twin Joe) started a band Jim’s enthusiasm was unlimited. Joe would let him sing a song (or ten) and all concerned had a wonderful time.
A free spirit with a laughing smile who loved life, Jim seldom met a stranger. There was no telling what a day may bring. There were occasions when Jim maybe didn’t think things all the way thru and what the results may be. In the end, it didn’t really matter. It’s all good. One of his other favorite pass times was hunting with his son, J.D. and all of his family and friends. Stories would come home that were often a little “iffy.” Jim’s love of people resulted in many caring deeply for him. His legacy of kindness and encouragement to others will be cherished and remembered.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Buckley’s ball field on River Rd. from 2PM to 4PM where brief words of remembrance will be offered at 3PM. (Follow the balloons from Romney to the ball field up River Rd.) Please come and help celebrate the life and love of Big Jim Kidwell. Jim’s ashes will be buried at Indian Mound Cemetery at a later date.
