Ellen Virginia (Raines) Wolfe Lepley

February 23, 1914 - September 14, 2018

Ellen Virginia (Raines) Wolfe Lepley, age 104, died peacefully at the Southgate Health Care Center in Carney’s Point, NJ.  She was born in Romney, WV on February 23, 1914 and is the daughter of the late Albert VanMeter Raines and Chloe S. Smith Raines.

She is also predeceased by her husbands Ora Wolfe (dec. 1964) and Roy Lepley; (3) sons; Herbert, Larry and Dwight Wolfe (1) daughter; Ilene Abe (4) stepsons; William, James, Ollie & Johnny (2) stepdaughters; Mildred and Mary (6) brothers; Coleman, Hansen, Frank, Andrew, Cecil and Robert Van Raines (7) sisters; Sally Katherine, Edith, Muriel, Grace, Erma, Ruth and Ava and (4) grandchildren.  Ellen was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Ellen is survived by (1) son; Paul Wolfe (wife Pauline) of Carpendale, WV (2) daughters; Joan Friant (husband Jerry) of Pennsville, NJ and Linda Rowe (husband Tom) of Ridgeley, WV (16) grandchildren and many, many great grandchildren and other family members.

Ellen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Cumberland where she spent many years doing genealogy and Temple work.  Her entire life revolved around her family, her church, and lots of work.  She was self-employed and worked for approximately 3 prominent families in Cumberland as a house keeper.

She will be remembered as a kind and loving mother who, with her husband Ora, always did the right thing and instilled wonderful values in her family.

Friends will be received on Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 11 AM to 12 Noon at the Romney Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, officiated by President Fulmer.  Interment to follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Romney, WV.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to defer funeral expenses or to the charity of your choice.
